LANAP: The COMFORTABLE Laser Gum Surgery
Have you been told you will lose your teeth to Periodontal Disease? Or that the infection in your gums is significantly increasing your risk of heart attack and stroke, premature birth and low-birth-weight infants, and that it will make your diabetes worse? Did you even know that Gum Disease is connected to all of those other major health risks?
Gum Disease is truly a serious and chronic infection, so not only do you risk losing your teeth, your overall health is being hurt. Just listen to Whoopi Goldberg tell her story on The View:
If you're worried about this happening to you, call 704-364-7069 or
In the past, traditional treatment options included Scaling & Root Planing (many call it a "Deep Cleaning"), low-dose antibiotics, prescription mouthrinses, and when it got really bad, you were referred to a periodontist for "Pocket-Reduction Surgery," which is a nice way of saying, "We'll basically cut the gums off to get rid of the deep pockets." As you can imagine, it's NOT a fun procedure!
But now there is LANAP, or Laser-Assisted New Attachment Protocol, which is performed with the Periolase MVP-7 dental laser. Also called Laser Periodontal TherapyTM, this procedure can actually stimulate bone regeneration and make the gums reattach the way they're supposed to do.
What probably means the most to YOU, though, is that this procedure is remarkably comfortable! And if you don't believe me, listen to Milli tell her experiences, then follow this link to hear the stories of patients who've experienced it: Smiles by Payet Dentistry on YouTube.
That's a pretty big claim to make, isn't it? Reattaches your gums and regenerates bone? To be completely honest, until recently, this was thought to be impossible, but this is case where it really is true.
What is involved with doing LANAP, which is also called "Laser Periodontal Therapy(TM)?" Describing it isn't easy unless you have some pictures to go along with it; the following videos will give you most of the details you need, and even let you hear the first-hand experiences of some patients.:
